About

The Community Lab is an independent community wet laboratory based in Los Alamos, New Mexico. Although we develop our own technology, we are purpose-built to support hands-on biological research, instrumentation translation, and workforce development outside traditional academic and federal laboratory structures.

Our mission is to make advanced biological tools and practices accessible, usable, and deployable by practitioners, startups, and interdisciplinary teams.

Capabilities

  • Wet-lab biological research and validation: sample preparation, assay development, and biological workflow testing across molecular and cellular biology contexts.

  • Instrumentation integration: experience integrating advanced tools into real biological workflows.

  • Translation-focused experimentation: rapid, iterative testing that prioritizes usability, reproducibility, and adoption.

  • Workforce development: hands-on training and skill-building for technicians, researchers, and cross-disciplinary practitioners in biology-based roles.
